Lead Full-Stack Engineer & Architect | MITCHDesigns (Taziry Ecolodge) | 2010

Context & Scale

Built on behalf of digital agency MITCHDesigns for Taziry, an off-grid eco-lodge and cultural heritage retreat in the Siwa Oasis, Egypt. The objective was to establish Taziry's inaugural international web presence and engineer a direct booking and accommodation showcase platform.

Architectural Decisions

  • ->Custom PHP MVC Framework Core: Architected an object-oriented MVC framework baseline, decoupling request routing, business logic, and presentation templates for implementation by the developer team.
  • ->Occupancy & Seasonal Pricing Schema: Designed a normalized relational database schema calculating dynamic accommodation rates across date ranges, room tiers, and guest configurations (differentiating adult and child occupancies).
  • ->SEO Metadata & Clean Routing Engine: Integrated metadata management within the administration layer alongside clean URL routing to maximize search engine indexing for international eco-tourism.

Engineering Execution

  • ->Backend: Object-oriented PHP 5 handling reservation request validation, dynamic tariff computation, and automated email confirmation dispatches.
  • ->Data Layer: MySQL relational schema indexing room inventory, seasonal availability calendars, and booking transaction logs.
  • ->Frontend: Standards-compliant semantic HTML, modular CSS layouts, and vanilla JavaScript interaction handlers.
  • ->Infrastructure: Apache web server running on a Linux LAMP stack with mod_rewrite rules for canonical URL enforcement.

Measurable Impact

  • ->Delivered Taziry's first direct online reservation channel, capturing guest bookings without intermediary agency commissions.
  • ->Provided MITCHDesigns with a structured booking and CMS engine successfully executed by their development team.
  • ->Established high organic search visibility across competitive international eco-tourism keywords.
